About
Founded by two best friends who share a love of culture and joy in daily ritual, connecting with people and our history is at the centre of everything we do. As proud daughters of immigrants, their mother’s taught them to work hard & to make something meaningful with what they have, even if the impact was small.

CREATIVE DIRECTION / BRAND IDENTITY / MERCHANDISING / SIGNAGE

Migrant Coffee was founded by two friends who wanted to create a space that honoured their mothers, their heritage, and the community around them. Blending Filipino, Thai, and Island flavours through a love of bagels and coffee, the café celebrates culture, belonging, and everyday ritual.

When I was approached during lockdown to reimagine their brand, the goal was to transform the word Migrant from something often seen as negative into a symbol of pride and connection. I designed an identity centred on a migrating duck, a visual metaphor for movement, home, and resilience. The tagline From here, but not from here became the heart of the brand, capturing the feeling of belonging everywhere and nowhere at once.

The result is a bold, culturally grounded brand that extends beyond coffee. Migrant has become a community icon, collaborating with brands like Nike, Adidas, and Coffee Supreme, while continuing to serve what it was built for — connection.
